Probate

When a loved one dies, most people have to go through a legal process called probate to transfer assets.  Often we think the house and car will just pass to the wife or children, but it is not as simple as that. During time of loss and grief, you deserve compassionate legal support that will handle the complicated legal matters, while you focus on being with your family and loved ones.

Whether there was a will, a trust, or nothing at all, we will give you the support you need.

Probation and Administration

There are different legal processes that need to happen when someone dies based on the plan they had in place, or didn't have in place, the assets they owned and their family situation.

Probate a Will

If an individual has a Last Will and Testament, it needs to be probated in court before assets are distributed. Some people mistakenly believe they can just distribute everything per the terms of the will, but there is a whole process involved in legally distributing assets after someone passes. This legal process can take months, or in some complicated cases, even years to finalize. We love to come along side people during this difficult season and ease the burden of the legal process so that they can focus on loved ones.

Estate Administration

If someone dies without a will in Georgia, their estate is divided according to state intestacy laws, which prioritize surviving relatives such as a spouse and children. If there is no spouse or children, the estate passes to other family members, such as parents or siblings, in a specified order. Spouses and minor children have certain rights to the estate, but these rights can be affected if necessary legal steps are not taken promptly. Contact us to discuss your options and ensure your rights are protected.
